What do we do with the waste?

This is a question about nuclear power that has no satisfactory answer. As our demand for power continues to grow, people consider the value of "safe, clean, affordable" nuclear power. But there's much more to the picture than just building reactors. Remember Fukushima?

We'll discuss these issues and others on today's show. Joining us will be Linda Gunter with Beyond Nuclear and Alaric Balibrera with Nuke Free Now, who began a hunger strike on July 16 to protest Los Alamos and nuclear weapons research.

What's Next for Occupy?

Today on the show we'll consider where the Occupy movement is or should be going. What would you like to see happen next? We'll hear from some people who are headed to the National Gathering to get their take.

Also, since the Supreme Court has not issued its decision about the Affordable Care Act, we'll review some other decisions of note from the past few days. Some outcomes may surprise you; their impact has been widely mis-reported in the national press.

Tell us what you think! Call in at (386) 523-1380 or share your thoughts below.

Citizens United: The end of democracy in America?

On today's show, we'll talk about the Supreme Court's outrageously activist decision that puts corporate money and wealthy donors on a level playing field with ... you. How do you think that battle plays out?

"Don't vote; it only encourages them."

A number of us have heard comments like this from within Occupy groups and in other places, as well. What is the point of participating in a system we know has been perverted by corporate influence and other chicanery? We'll talk about it on today's show. Deirdre Macnab, president of the Florida League of Women Voters, will join us.

They don't want you to, anyway: We'll also discuss the alarming success of conservative efforts to suppress voter turnout in many states.

Join the discussion! Call us at (386) 523-1380, send us a tweet at @AirOccupy, comment on our Facebook page, or share your thoughts below.

Coming Up Tuesday ...

We're going to address a critical issue facing the nation: foreclosure. Our community is among the most-affected in the nation, with Florida leading the way as losses to foreclosure continue to mount. What role is played by fraud? What can we do?

We'll also discuss some implications of the recent $2 billion loss by JP Morgan Chase.

What do you think? What have you been reading about these issues? How have you been affected?
